Our Story

In the summer of 2013, Peoria Softball Little League closed and created a need for girls softball in the northwest valley. Diamond Girls Softball Association, known locally as DGSA, was formed as a non-profit organization focused on player development with community involvement.

Over the past 12 years, DGSA has grown to become one of the Valley's elite youth fastpitch softball recreational organizations. Many of our players and coaches build from the developmental environment that we offer and move onto club and travel fastpitch softball teams, play high school softball, and college softball, and some players return to coach the younger divisions.

In 2023, we had 22 teams for our Spring Season and 24 teams for our Fall season. In 2024, we had 28 teams for our Spring Season and 24 teams for our Fall season. Each season offers over 280 youth athletes the opportunity to learn, develop and play recreational softball.

For Spring 2025, we are starting a T-ball/coach pitch division for our 4-6 year olds; our 8u division will focus on helping our beginners learn to pitch and catch which allows our players to be more prepared to tryout and join travel/club organizations.

We welcome all players in every division, beginner to advanced, to be part of our growing organization.

We serve the following Arizona cities:

Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, El Mirage, Goodyear, Avondale, Litchfield Park, North Phoenix, and other surrounding areas.

Hours of Operation: Weeknights between 5-9pm

All DGSA events are scheduled in the City of Peoria. League events are held weeknights between 5-9pm: each team will have a dedicated practice and game schedule viewable through the TeamSnap app.

  • T-ball and/or 8u may have Saturday morning games.

  • Picture Day is offered either Opening Day or a designated Saturday morning, with advanced notice to coaches/teams.

The league provides 5 practices and 9 game guarantee, weather/conditions permitting. Coaches may provide additional practices and/or scrimmages at preapproved locations and with other teams within our League. DGSA is not liable for scrimmages with teams that are not affiliated with our league. Fields reserved by DGSA for DGSA players cannot have non-DGSA players participating.

Inclement Weather Policy: (Scored Games Only)

It is up to the umpire to decide if the conditions are safe and playable if rain occurs before or during a game. If a game is cancelled due to rain or inclement weather before any games have started (or if the home team has not overtaken the score in the 1st inning), the game will be rescheduled (based on City of Peoria field availability). If an umpire calls a game before the 1st inning has been completed (and the home team is ahead at the time the game is called) the game is considered complete and legal. If a game is canceled after a full inning is completed, the score reverts back to the last completed inning.
